Emphasis is on developing a conceptual understanding of accounting information systems. This course combines information systems concepts, computer technology, and accounting issues. Topics include computer security, information privacy, accounting cycles, specialized journals, systems development, computer crime, database applications, e-commerce and other information systems issues. Discussion of current literature and use of a computerized accounting system will be included.
