Notation, scales, intervals, four-part harmony, using principal and subordinate triads, dominant seventh, dominant ninth, cadences, harmonization of melodies, figured and unfigured basses, original phrases and periods. Application of the preceding to keyboard harmony. This course is taken concurrently with a corresponding theory course. The same instructor teaches both classes. Prerequisite: Music Theory Diagnostic Exam (MUS 1112-fall, spring; MUS 1212-spring, summer)
