This course covers the global financial environment and introduces the concepts and techniques required to fulfill the roles and responsibilities of financial managers of multinational firms or domestic companies with some degree of international exposure. Includes analysis of international balance of payments, foreign exchange markets, determinants of exchange rates, the risk of foreign exchange fluctuation, and methods of protecting against these risks. Financing international trade, sources of short-term and long-term funds, the effective cost of borrowing foreign currencies, international equity markets, financial evaluation of foreign projects, and financial management of international operations are examined. Prerequisite: FIN 3023. (spring).
