This course is designed to teach language arts and social studies from an integrated perspective. A variety of instructional models and strategies are used to involve students in the exploration of the language arts and social studies curricula in the PK-8 classroom. Special emphasis is placed on reading and writing across the curriculum as well as the selection of appropriate materials that emphasize multicultural perspectives in the social and language arts.
