This course focuses on the interaction among the home, school, and community in a multicultural and linguistically diverse society. Effective communication skills with students, parents, peers, and the community are explored. Topics include families in crisis, family-systems theory, community resources, parental involvement, and collaboration techniques. Students plan and implement parent involvement activities and identify and research community resources. (fall)
