This course is designed to allow students to practice and enhance their teaching abilities in mathematics. The course has two goals: to strengthen the skills required for teaching certification and to provide experience with current teaching methods used in successful math classrooms and recommended by the NCTM teaching standards. The course encourages students to leave behind their math anxiety as new experiences are gained in teaching mathematics. Emphasis is on the mathematical processing skills of problem solving, reasoning, communication, and connections. (fall)
