The course provides techniques in the assessment and remediation of reading and difficulties K-8th grades. Focus is on classroom instruction and practical application of the diagnostic/ prescriptive process to motivate, build understanding, and encourage active engagement in the reading process. Field experience is a major component of this class in which students practice the skills discussed in the classroom at a school site and work with K-8 students. Prerequisite: ELED 3403. (spring)
