An introductory course to foster an understanding and appreciation of the mechanics and processes involved in creating and producing an entertainment project. Attention is given to how the technical aspects of a production in the entertainment industry evolve from initial conception to final presentation. Students learn how producers and managers communicate effectively with directors, designers, and technicians working in the entertainment industry. Guidelines and techniques for creating and managing budgets pertaining to the technical aspects of an entertainment project are examined. Sophomore standing required. For arts management majors only.
