Major periods of theater activity investigated with special emphasis on theater architecture, methods of production, audiences, traditions, documents, allied arts, and the social milieu. Writing-intensive section. Prerequisite: Theater 1 or 1.1 or 1.2 or student must pass the department examination on general theater knowledge; Core Studies 1 and 6, English 2, and permission of the chairperson.
