2 hours lecture, 3 hours supervised fieldwork and independent study§; 3 credits In cooperation with a university or other institution in Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, Latin America, Puerto Rico, or the United States, the department offers opportunities for study and travel beyond New York with a focus on the Latino/a and Latin American experience. Field trips to places of cultural and historical significance. Lectures by scholars from Brooklyn College and the host site. Independent and/or group research. (Students may take the course for credit twice, with the permission of the chairperson, but may not repeat locations. Consult department for locale of a specific offering.Travel and accommodation fees required.) Prerequisite: departmental permission in consultation with the instructor required.
