3 hours lecture, 6 hours supervised fieldwork and independent study§; 6 credits In cooperation with a university or other institution in Puerto Rico, the United States, the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, or Europe, the department offers opportunities for study abroad. Field trips to places of cultural and historical significance. Lectures by scholars from Brooklyn College and the host country. Independent and/or group research. (Students may take the course for credit twice, with the permission of the chairperson, but may not repeat countries. Consult department for locale of a specific offering. Travel and accommodation fees required.) Prerequisite: permission in consultation with the chairperson.
