3 hours; 3 credits Emphasizes seeing and hearing, how these senses provide us with, and limit our information about, the world, and how sensory messages are integrated into perceptions of real objects and events. Topics include sensory psychophysics, space-perception, movement, illusions, influence of emotional and motivational states, age-related changes, and effects of past experience and perceptual expectations. (Not open to students who have completed Psychology 73.1.) Prerequisite: Psychology 1 or 1.1.
