3 hours; 3 credits An introductory level course that examines properties of the nervous system that underlie psychological processes. A review will be made of neural anatomy and physiology and the impact of neural chemistry and hormones. Topics include neural systems that mediate sensory and motor systems, learning, memory, emotions, and disorders. Prerequisite: Psychology 1 or 1.1 or Biology 31 or 34 or Health and Nutrition Sciences 22.71 or Physical Education 22.71.
