Pragmatism and logical positivism; pragmatism and analytic philosophy; pragmatism and naturalism; neopragmatism. The influence of American pragmatism on other philosophical traditions. Such philosophers as Peirce, James, Dewey, Mead, Davidson, Putnam, and Rorty. Prerequisite: one course in philosophy or Core Curriculum 2.1.
