2 hours lecture and 2 hours independent work§ and conference per week; 3 credits Seminar or independent study in recent and current topics in environmental studies with focus on research methodology. Seminars by invited speakers; student seminars and discussions moderated by instructor. Selected individual research projects by students; research report and position paper required. Writing-intensive course. Prerequisite: Environmental Studies 1, advanced standing in environmental studies major or minor, and permission of the director of the Environmental Studies Program; English 2.
