Writing as a process: invention, revision, editing; effective structures; writing about literature; experimenting with genres; writing as a way of learning. Social and linguistic influences on writing. Responding to other people's work. Frequent in-class writing; several short papers taken through drafts; compilation of a portfolio. This course is the same as English 50.14. Prerequisite: English 1.
