2 hours recitation, 2 hours supervised field experience; 3 credits Social studies curriculum for young children with diverse learning needs and of differing cultural and linguistic backgrounds in varied school, family, and community settings. Study of social science texts and materials, curriculum, and pedagogic methods, including culturally developmentally appropriate practices and play-based curriculum for young children. Field experience in schools and community settings. Development of teaching portfolio. Prerequisite: Education 16 and 34.
