Video games, computers in classrooms, "hackers," the world ofprofessional programmers, computers in the workplace, robots, and expert systems. Political and military impact of computers. Issues of privacy and ethics. This course is the same as Sociology 53. Prerequisite: both a) and b): a) Core Curriculum 3.12 or Core Studies 5 or 5.1 or any course in computing; b) Core Studies 3 or Sociology 5.
