Major states in the Caribbean: Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, the Commonwealth Caribbean; and selected members of other territories. The political economy of these societies and the growth of mass movements. Foreign policies of various Caribbean states. This course is the same as Political Science 49.8. Prerequisite: one of the following: Core Studies 3, 9, Africana Studies 17, 17.3, Political Science 1.5.
