3 hours; 3 credits An examination of the role and impact of major forces and institutions that affect the formation and reformation of American public policy. A variety of public policy issues, such as economic development, the women's movement, civil rights, crime, abortion, and budgeting, are examined from different theoretical perspectives. Attention is given to comparable issues arising in other nations. Prerequisite: ENG 2100 or equivalent.
