3 hours; 3 credits This course examines literary texts that address the role of cities in Latin America, and provides students with a better understanding of the representation of cities and urban life in Latin American culture. Critical essays dealing with urban issues, as well as videos and films, are integrated into the course work. Authors may include Ernesto Sábato, Julio Cortázar, Rosario Ferré, and Elena Poniatowska.
