3 hours; 3 credits This course studies different manifestations of the Latin- American novel. In addition to examining literary techniques, themes, and motifs, it investigates sociopolitical as well as racial and gender issues pertinent to the countries in which the literature was written. Authors may include Carlos Fuentes, Gabriel García Márquez, Isabel Allende, and MarioVargas Llosa.
