3 hours; 3 credits This course examines Latin American literature written by 20th-century women writers. It focuses on poetry, novels, and essays. In conjunction with literary analysis, this course considers sociohistorical contexts and issues of feminism, gender, and sexuality. Writers may include Gabriela Mistral, Rosario Castellanos, Rosario Ferré, and Cristina Peri Rossi.
