3 hours; 3 credits This course examines Spanish film and the cinematic representations of the Spanish artistic tradition. It provides the basis for an understanding of the cultural and ideological changes in Spain during the 20th century. It includes historical, theoretical, literary, and filmic texts. Works by Lope de Vega, Pérez Galdós, Bu uel, Saura, Bardem, Berlanga, Mariscal,Bigas Luna, Almodóvar, and Pilar Miró will be studied.
