3 hours; 3 credits This course offers the student an exploration of the origins of theatre and overviews of major world theatre production practices and dramatic literature drawn from Western, African, and Asian traditions. The place of theatre in society and its potential as a cultural force are examined within the context of selected historical periods. Prerequisite: ENG 2100 or departmental permission. Students interested in this course should see a department advisor.
