3 hours; 3 credits This course teaches students image-making for graphic design applications. Focusing on the development of conceptual thinking and problem-solving through the application of design methodology, the course explores how graphic designers use the computer both to draw and to manipulate images in the creation of various types of graphic design. The student will learn how to create and alter images utilizing Macintosh computers and the dominant graphics software in the field, such as Adobe PhotoShop and Adobe Illustrator. Prerequisite: Any studio-based art course or permission of the instructor.
