It explores the interconnectedness between theeconomic and political factors that have given shape to the current global economy. The issues are discussed inhistorical perspective, highlighting the major theories that have been developed. Some of the issues examinedrelate to global security, trade protectionism, international finance, economic and political integration,transnational corporations, the political economy of oil, and global poverty.
