Van Heest The bible is a colonial text, both because it references ancient structures of dominance and because of its collusion in modern empire and globalization. This course will closely examine influential text passages and investigate scriptural imperialism in historical context, with special emphasis on biblical interpretation by both colonizer and colonized in the global south.
