Staff Study of selected masterpieces of the Boom and post- Boom, including novels by García Márquez, SkármetaPuig, and Ferré. Themes such as myth and history, language and power, gender and social status are explored, while we study pertinent literary techniques and recent writerly trends. Attendance of at least two films mandatory. Prerequisite: Spanish 100 or above. Offered every other year.
