Lynch This course examines the social and political changes that gave rise to the concept of "childhood," thesubsequent rise of the juvenile justice system, and further modifications of that system's strategies for prevention and treatment. Course topics include the causes of juvenile delinquency, changes in the nature and distribution of juvenile crime and deviance, and the history and changing forms of gang activity in the U.S. Offered every year.
