Ochoa This course uses a case study approach to explore the interplay between economics and demographic transformations and community dynamics. Focusing on Los Angeles communities, the course reviews some of the most recent scholarship in this area and considers topics such as economic transformations, (im)migration, class divisions, race and ethnic relations, community organizing, women and activism, and strategies and possibilities for change.
