A study of percentages, ratios, powers, roots, units of measure, using English and metric units, scientific notation, engineering notation, numbering systems (binary and hexadecimal), exponentials and logarithms, manipulation of algebraic expressions and formulas used in technical problem solving, quadratic equations, solving word problems, systems of equations, exponential functions, logarithmic functions, trigonometric functions, vectors as related to technical problem solving, addition of vectors, subtraction of vectors, complex numbers, and usage of calculators. Three hours lecture, two hours lab. Prerequisite: Passage of MTH 10403 or equivalent skill level as indicated by the score on the placement exam. Fall
