This course is a broad survey of music throughout Western history with specialization in the composers, literature, styles, and performance mediums from the medieval period through the Baroque period. Comparisons will be made between music and the visual arts. Visits by visual artists when schedules permit. Prerequisite: MUS 12203 or permission of the instructor. Fall 2009.
