A study of Intel based microcomputers. Topics include: history, microprocessor performance, memory architecture, I/O mapping, interrupts, motherboard design, bus architecture, power supplies, logical troubleshooting, memory, floppy drives, sound cards, video standards, networking security standards and printer technologies. This course is designed to introduce students to hardware and operating systems used in microcomputers and prepare them to pass the CompTIA A+ certification examination.
