This course is a study of the structure, physiology, classification, and interactions of microorganisms with emphasis on microbes of importance to medicine, industry, and biotechnology. It also includes mechanisms of pathogenicity, body defense mechanisms, and immunology. Three hours lecture, two hour lab. Prerequisite: BIO 12404 or BIO 11404 or permission of instructor. Spring 2011
