This course examines the hardware/software aspects associated with developing microcontroller-based computer systems. The students learn about the architecture and assembly language for popular microcontrollers and how to take advantage of a variety of input/output options that include binary ports, A/D and D/A converters, communication ports, and interfacing techniques for various applications Prerequisites: E&C-ENGR 426 and E&C-ENGR 427 Co-requisite: E&C-E NGR 429 3 hrs
