A hands-on introduction to the theory and applications of neurocomputing. Includes classification, function approximation, supervised and unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and adaptive filtering using different feed-forward and recurrent artificial neural networks. Prerequisites: E&C-Engr 341 and Comp-Sci 394R; or an intermediate knowledge of calculus, probability, and linear algebra along with instructor's consent. Offered: Winter 3 hrs
