This course is a companion course to the core nursing component of the baccalaureate program. Within this course the student will discover that good writing is essential in the nursing profession for effectively tranmitting nursing practiceand professional and academic dialogue. Regardless of whether the writing is on a patient's chart, in a grant proposal, or a formal presentation, professional writing must be clear, precise, logical, and appropriateto the situation. The art and process of writing is complex and can only be learned by practicing writing. Content appropriate to the enhancement of professional writing skills will be covered within this class. Students will examine writing processes, learn to find and use resourses for writing, write and present several types of papers for nursing. Prerequisites: Concurrent enrollment in NURSE 484 Offered: Winter 1 hr
