NURSE 364 - Management of Maternal & Family Health

This course focuses on the application of the nursing process in the adaption of the childbearing family. Emphasis is placed on adaption during pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum period. Key concepts to be addressed include maternal, fetal, neonatal and family adaption throughtout the maternity cycle, common alterations during the cycle and culturally sensitive, family-centered nursing care. Maternal, fetal and neonatal physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology will be addressed. Two credit hours didactic and two credit hours for clinical practice (120 clinical hours) are required. Prerequisites: Successful Completion of N262, including all prerequisites and co-requisites. Restrictions: Minimum grade of C in all major courses. Offered: Fall/Winter 4 hrs
