This course in Periodontics will cover the biological and clinical aspects of periodontal health and pathology. An introduction to the supporting structures of the teeth will provide the foundation of understanding pathogenesis, histopathology and subsequent therapeutic treatment of periodontal diseases. The dental hygienist's role in recognition, prevention and treatment of periodontal diseases and maintenance of periodontal health is examined. 3 hrs
