This course is designed to develop skills in the teaching of jazz and commercial music. Students will be exposed to a variety of materials, techniques and philosophies and trained in various techniques of rehearsing and conducting jazz ensembles, including the study of scores and recordings of different styles and rehearsal of the Conservatory's jazz ensembles. Includes an emphasis on structuring jazz and studio music curriculum at the College level. Prerequisite: CONSVTY 381 Basic Conducting. 2 hrs
