This course presents an introduction to the concepts, models, and methods of operations management. Students will study approaches to planning, scheduling, and controlling product and service facilities, processes, cost, quality, quantity, production, capacity, inventory, and distribution requirements. Computer applications and computer-based operations control systems will be introduced as a means to effectively manage the operations functions of both product and service organizations. Prerequisites: ECON 202, STAT 235 or BDS 308 3 hrs
