This independent study course is designed to encourage students to put into play their study of and growing understanding of men's lives. Each student will design and carry out an independent study/research project that will take into account (critically) the experience of at least three men in their immediate surroundings. Ethnographic methods (observation, field-note/interview and transcription strategies, write-up, etc.) will be covered to facilitate the student's successful completion of their project. The project will be broken down into phases to insure timely progress throughout the semester. Restrictions: Concurrent enrollment in Meanings of Masculinity required. 4 hrs
