Overview of waste management issues. Nature, classification and disposal of waste. U.S. laws governing the management of solid, hazardous, biologic and nuclear waste. Lectures and discussions will be supplemented by visits to waste management facilities to study methods and technologies used for wastewater treatment and disposal of solid, hazardous and biologic wastes. The course includes both local and out-of-town travel. Final report required. Prerequisites: Jr/Sr or instructor's consent Offered: Summer 3 hrs
