Epistemology is preoccupied with skepticism, the view that knowledge is unobtainable. Recently, there has been skepticism voiced about the status of epistemology itself; philosophers conversant in cognitive science suggest that epistemology is beset with dubious presuppositions. We survey epistemology, cognitive science, and their interface. Students cannot receive credit for this course and course 241. Prerequisite(s): course 91 or 93 or 94.
