An examination of the beginnings of analytic philosophy, with primary interest in the reformulation of traditional philosophical problems by Frege, Russell, and the early Wittgenstein. Some attention is also paid to the development of Vienna Circle logical positivism (Schlick, Carnap, Waismann). Prerequisite(s): course 91 or 93 or 94. Enrollment limited to 39.
