Themes include literary, religious, and philosophical innovation; courtly life; cultural contacts with non-Chinese people; and transformations of state and society. Satisfies the Pre- and Early Modern and World Literature concentrations; also satisfies the Global, Poetry, and Pre- and Early Modern distribution requirements. (Also offered as History 141B.
