Introduces students to a broad sampling of verbal and nonverbal forms of Mexican folklore. Concentrates on experiencing these forms through texts, film, and if possible, performances. Attention to how these forms have been used by scholars to comment on Mexican culture is an underlying theme. Knowledge of Spanish is useful but not required.
