Practicum in ceramic materials analysis and description. Students perform material experiments in materials selection and processing, hand-building techniques, and open-pit firing. Demonstrations of standard techniques of attribute analysis and the mineralogical and chemical characterization of ceramic materials are presented. Students cannot receive credit for this course and course 280L. Prerequisite(s): course 3. Concurrent enrollment in course 180 required. Enrollment restricted to anthropology majors.
