Introduces the African diaspora from an archaeological perspective. Focuses on examining the cultural, social, economic, and political lives of Africans and their descen- dants in the New World and West Africa from the 15th through 19th centuries. Students cannot receive credit for this course and Anthropology 275C. Will be offered in the 2009-2010 academic year. (Also offered as History 158C. Students cannot receive credit for both courses.)
